St Gildas' sémaphore
A strategic outpost overlooking the ocean, this historic look-out post became a semaphore station in 1865 and was later converted into a light house in 1954.
In its current role as a modern museum space it tells not only its own history but also the story of the evolution of maritime communication and the shipwreck catastrophes of the Loire estuary.
